Sample Teaching Materials
Faith, Reason, Revelation
This course is usually the first introduction our students have to theology. Many take it as first-semester Freshmen. Therefore, it includes many short assignments to allow them to get feedback and grow in confidence.

As AI has become more of an issue, this year I have shifted one of my writing assignments to be an in-class write so I can get a baseline writing sample from the students.

In recent years, students seem to come to UST with a greater reluctance to speak in class. To address this I have added short activities which they do together in class to help them achieve greater confidence sharing ideas and speaking in class. Graded activities are reflected in the syllabus, many smaller 5 to 10 minute in-class activities are not reflected in the syllabus. Students are engaged with these. I have them work with the same small groups throughout the semester, so they form connections as well.

Sacraments 5332
This course used to be taught as a shared course with the undergraduate sacraments course. I have recently separated the two courses, as our MA program has grown. The assignments and extent of readings differ. One recent change is the addition of the Canon Law presentation in the undergraduate class, along with the removal of the seminar on Martin Luther.
